Admo Dummy comes out of the gate swinging. Traces of 90s heroes such as Stereolab and Lilys, 70s krautrock staples Neu! and Cluster, all combined with a distinct melodic sensibility elevate this all-too-brief EP. Favorite track: Avant-Garde Gas Station.

Anthony Owsley At times it shines with some wonderful lo-fi electro weirdness that harkens back to better days. It's hard to avoid the Stereolab-sized elephant in the room (practice space?) when listening but hopefully they'll develop their own voice soon enough. The advance promo of their upcoming full-length sounds promising enough. I'll keep listening! Favorite track: Touch The Chimes.
Nick Ruva

Nick Ruva A sound that harkens back to hay-day Urusei Yatsura, Pavement, Sonic Youth, and right into gazey-days past. Love this EP. I'm looking forward to see where this band goes. Favorite track: Angel's Gear.

about

Dummy is five people in Los Angeles making music informed by motorik pulse and minimal composition like the Velvet Underground and Cluster before them. Across five tracks, experimental noise and ambient soundscapes intertwine with hypnotic drone-pop and avant-folk. Self-recorded in their practice space, their debut EP was mixed by Joo-joo Ashworth, with mastering by Unknown Force. Available digitally May 1st and on cassette from Pop Wig Records (Bugg, Big Bite, Angel Du$t) in the near future. It serves as a documentation of hopeful uncertainty.
